Paris, 9 March 2009 – Freeport, a Carlyle real estate portfolio company and one of the leading developers and operators of outlet malls in Europe, today announces details for the construction of its planned designer outlet centre near Roppenheim in Alsace, France. The invitation to tender made in October 2008 to determine which company would build the centre drew significant interest from national and local construction companies. Following a detailed selection procedure, Freeport has selected the joint venture Urban (Vinci Group) and Demathieu & Bard, who will commence construction on the project in October. Completion is targeted for the end of 2010, with opening expected in March 2011...
