Parc de Cubzac - First outlet centre for the south of France

Plans are now under way for the development of the very first outlet centre in the South of France, heralding the ‘next generation’ of outlet retailing in France. ‘Parc du Cubzac’ – is set to revolutionise all previous perceptions of outlet shopping. This will be destination shopping at its most sophisticated – a fusion of top end retailing, eating, drinking and leisure – all taken out of town and situated in the beautiful countryside of Bordeaux.
Parc du Cubzac is just 25 km north of Bordeaux – one of the world’s premier wine growing districts – adjacent to St Emilion and Cotes de Bourg and in a region attracting over 3 million visitors per annum. Situated at the junction of the A10 highway (Paris – Bordeaux) and the N10 trunk road – the site offers easy access to 28 million private vehicles using the roads. It’s strategic position – near to the A10 toll area - means that visitors can choose to stop off en route to the South or North for a leisure break – or provide a complete day out for families in stunning surroundings.
Parc du Cubzac will cover a total area of 18ha. 13,050m2 will be released for phase 1 of the development due to open Summer 2008. The overall project on completion will offer approximately 120 shops, 4 cafes and restaurants and children’s play area and 1,500m2 will be dedicated to a national visitor attraction for the promotion of local tourism and wine making facilities of the Bordeaux region.
The mix of retailers is designed to offer top end, high quality fashion, luxury and household goods – and all available at substantial savings on the high street. There has already been strong interest from brands who recognise the potential of this first outlet of its kind in the South of France
The complete project is under the management of Pantheon Retail, one of the UK’s leading outlet specialists and asset management companies.
Franck Verschelle, European Director for Pantheon Retail is delighted that the project is now under way: “the vote to proceed was unanimous and demonstrates the great confidence local and regional governments have in the project - we thank them and the public for their support. This is wonderful news too for the area – not only will Parc du Cubzac provide a fantastic destination for shopping, leisure and tourism – it will also create jobs and help improve regional economy”.
