McArthurGlen, Europe’s leading developer, owner and manager of designer outlet villages, has appointed Karen Stewart as centre manager for its Livingston Designer Outlet.

Karen has worked in the retail industry for over 15 years, including management roles with Debenhams and House of Fraser and a centre manager position at the Cameron Toll shopping centre in Edinburgh. She joins Livingston Designer Outlet from the Overgate shopping centre in Dundee, where she worked as centre manager for three years.

Karen said: “I’m delighted to join the team at the outlet, and I plan to use the knowledge and expertise that I’ve gathered in my previous centre manager roles to ensure that retailers and customers have a positive experience at the outlet.”

In her new role, Karen will be building on the outlet’s success in attracting popular brands to the outlet in order to further strengthen its portfolio of retailers.

Karen continued: “The outlet currently offers a fantastic range of well known brands including Lacoste, Karen Millen, Aquascutum and Mamas & Papas that are extremely popular with our customers.

“My focus for the coming year will be to maintain our existing brands and continue to improve the mix of retailers so we can attract more shoppers that want quality designer and high street brands.

“I will be working with the rest of the management team to maintain the outlet’s reputation as a major shopping destination and to improve the whole shopping experience through events and additional activities.
