"

Jaeger has acquired its first outlet store in Ireland at The Outlet at Bridgewater Park, Banbridge, Northern Ireland. The luxury British brand has taken the 2,787-sq ft Unit 56 at the 205,000 sq ft outlet mall, which is scheduled to open at Easter 2007. Retailers already signed up to The Outlet include Nike, Replay, Ghost, Joseph, Gap, The Designer Studio, Marks & Spencer, Olsen, Oasis, Nitya and Ravel. And Jo Skilton, commercial director of developer GML Estates, said: “We have many more units under offer and in solicitors hands at present, which we are excited to be able to announce in the next few weeks.” Mike Thompson, retail director of Jaeger, said: “As Jaeger expands its UK and European high street retailing estate the outlet market in key geographic locations provides a sensible option to clear ex retail stock in an environment that protects the brand as it continues to grow apace.” The £70m retail outlet centre, which comprises 80 retail units arranged in a curved design stretching one third of a mile, is being jointly developed by GML Estates, its parent Orana Group and Land Securities. The Outlet is the first phase of the 1.2 million sq ft Bridgewater Park scheme. The second phase will include a 430,571 sq ft retail park which already has planning permission and is expected to include a Tesco Extra hypermarket, 2,000 more parking spaces to serve the retail site, a 60 bedroom hotel, drive-thru restaurant and petrol filling station. Markham Vaughan Gillingham and DTZ McCombe Pierce are joint letting agents.
