Futura Park Kraków’s cornerstone laid

Neinver has laid the cornerstone at its Futura Park Kraków investment. Once completed it will be the first factory outlet center in Małopolskie voivodship, according to the developer.

Located in Modlniczka, less than 10 km from Kraków, Futura Park Kraków will bring a total of 42,000 sqm of retail space to the market. The two-story complex will contain “traditional” retail space as well as outlet center space.

“The combination of an outlet center with a traditional retail park which is currently being erected near Kraków is the second – after Wrocław – investment of this type being realized by Neinver in Poland,” said Barbara Topolska, general director of Neinver Polska. “We’re introducing a whole new sales concept to Małopolska – a Factory outlet center in which you can buy brand-name products for prices 30 to 70 percent lower than normal shop prices.”

Construction on the project began in June. Delivery is expected in Q3 2011.

The outlet center portion of the project will total 22,000 sqm on the upper floor of the building. This space will house around 120 shops. The ground floor, meanwhile, will comprise 20,000 sqm with 12 retail-service providers.

Hochtief is serving as general contractor on the project.

Neinver, a Spanish firm, has been present in the Polish market since 2000. The firm is currently implementing two other investments in the country – the construction of Factory Annopol, in the Białołęka district of Warsaw; and the renovation of Katowice’s central train station, which involves the creation of a retail center called Galeria Katowicka.
