Cut price chocolate is coming to Gloucester, as Cadbury and Thornton’s were revealed as likely tenants in the new Quays designer outlet centre.
And the way has been cleared for the Docks’ antique centre to move across the water to the edge of the same development.
Last night (Tuesday) developer Gloucester Quays LLP won permission for Cadbury and Thornton’s to sell a small amount of non-discounted goods in two shops at the Docks site.
The names of those shops which are moving in ahead of the May 21 opening of the £200 million scheme have been kept under wraps but Gloucester Quays LLP’s application to vary the conditions of planning permission for Cadbury’s and Thornton’s brought their names out in to the open.
Both sell discounted stock in other factory outlet centres around the country - and a small a amount of full price goods.
In a separate application from Gloucester Quays LLP, it won permission to allow a change of use of the former Matthews Furniture building so that the Gloucester Antiques centre can move in there from the Lock Warehouse.
