Cheshire Oaks has built its own mini-version of Wimbledon in the centre of the outlet so that shoppers won’t miss any of the tennis action.
The marketing campaign was thought up by Manchester agency, May Nineteen and it even includes a Murray Mound, made from 300 tonnes of soil.
There’s also a mini tennis court and the obligatory strawberries and cream:
“This really is a fabulous Summer of Sport and Wimbledon suits perfectly our target customer, the ambience we want to create and most importantly is linked to many of our key brands. It’s fantastic to see so many customers relaxing in a deckchair or on the grass whilst watching the tennis. And so far the weather has been perfect!” said marketing manager, Shaun Rhodes - clearly relieved he opted for Wimbledon over the World Cup...
The Wirral-based shopping outlet is owned by McArthurGlen. It recently appointed Code Computer Love and Clear Marketing to its digital and creative accounts.
